Former Residence of Lu Zhonglin

The former residence of Lu Zhonglin is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Lu Zhonglin is located at No. 18 Dali Road, Heping District. Built during the Republican era, it is a two-story British-style brick-and-wood structure with a red-tiled sloping roof, facing south and situated to the north. The building features high steps and a round-arched main gate. The courtyard is lush with trees, and the overall layout is pleasing to the eye—simple, unadorned, and gracefully elegant. It now serves as residential housing.

Lu Zhonglin (1884–1966), courtesy name Ruibo, was from Beiluzhuang Village, Ding County (now Dingzhou). As a child, he studied at a private school and later taught at Luozhuangpu. In the 34th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1908), he attended the Qing Army Training Camp, where he met the young officer Feng Yuxiang, and later served as adjutant and battalion deputy commander, among other roles. In 1912, he participated in the Luanzhou Uprising and subsequently held positions such as battalion deputy commander, battalion commander, regimental commander, head of the Henan Police Department and Kaifeng Police Commissioner, and brigade commander. In 1915, he joined Feng Yuxiang’s forces and served as brigade commander of the 22nd Brigade and commander of the Training Regiment.
