Pan Fu’s Former Residence is a cultural tourism attraction.

Pan Fu’s Former Residence is located at No. 2 Mache Dao, Heping District. It is a typical Western European-style garden residence. The building was designed and constructed in 1919 by a French architect commissioned by Pan Fu through Zhuang Lefeng, then chairman of the Kailuan Mining Administration, and occupies an area of over ten acres. The main building is a three-story brick-and-wood structure with large tiles, a corrugated iron roof, and cement plastering. The doors, windows, and floors are all made of Philippine wood, and the building features a five-sided veranda. The eastern downstairs of the main building served as a reception hall for dignitaries, while the western downstairs was used to receive relatives and friends. The entire residence includes 17 buildings consisting of both multi-story and single-story houses, covering a total floor area of 3,827.99 square meters. The spacious courtyard is enclosed by an iron fence and planted with various flowers, trees, and lawn greenery, with a pathway running through the center leading directly to the main entrance of the residence. This former residence has been listed as an immovable cultural relic in Tianjin that has not yet been designated as a protected cultural heritage site.

Pan Fu (1883–1936), originally named Zhenfu and styled Xinhang, was from Panjiazhuang in the southeast of Jining Prefecture (now Panjiazhuang in Mapo Township, Weishan County). He served as the Finance Minister and Premier of the Beiyang Government. As a youth, he was dedicated to his studies. In his early years, he gained recognition during the “Railway Rights Protection” movement. At the start of the construction of the Tianjin–Pukou Railway, when the people of Jining learned that the line would not pass through their city, they immediately appointed him and Yuan Jingxi to lead a delegation to Beijing to petition. Although the railway did not ultimately pass through Jining, a branch line was built directly from Yanzhou to Jining, which was directly related to his reasoned advocacy and active efforts.
