The former residence of Sun Tongxuan is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Sun Tongxuan is located at No. 68 Chongqing Road, Heping District. Built in the 1930s, it covers a construction area of 733 square meters, featuring a three-story Western-style brick-concrete structure with an irregular floor plan and forming its own enclosed courtyard.

Sun Tongxuan (1895–1978), courtesy name Yinting, was from Jiaohe, Hebei. A general of the Northwest Army, he joined Feng Yuxiang’s troops in his early years. During the War of Resistance against Japan, he served as commander-in-chief of the Third Army Group and participated in the Battle of Taierzhuang. Sun Tongxuan was an upright individual with a strong sense of national dignity, progressive thinking, and revolutionary leanings. He had connections with the Chinese Communist Party at an early stage. When stationed in Yanzhou, he served as division commander of the 20th Division under the Nationalist 3rd Route Army. Due to his effective military leadership and strict discipline, his troops did not engage in any harassment of civilians or troublemaking during their stay in Yanzhou.
