Former Residence of Wang Yusheng

The former residence of Wang Yusheng is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Wang Yusheng is located at No. 89 Chongqing Road. It is a small two-story British-style villa constructed with brick and wood, built in 1929. The architectural features include an octagonal protrusion in the central part of the building’s façade, four cement steps with plaster finish on the left side of the main entrance, topped by a second-floor balcony. The layout is rational and compact, fully equipped, and exquisitely decorated. It is now used as office space.

Wang Yusheng (1933–1967), also known as Zepei, was from Guantao, Shandong. He was the nephew of Wang Zhanyuan, the Hubei Military Governor of the Beiyang Government, and lived in Tianjin. He was responsible for managing the industrial and commercial enterprises owned by his family. He successively served as Chairman of the Baoding Electric Light Company, General Manager of the Baoding Qianyi Flour Company, Director of the Jinan Electric Power Company, and Chairman of the Jinan Electric Light Company. In 1932, when Song Hongqing founded the East Asia Woolen Mill in Tianjin, Wang invested over 500,000 yuan and became a major shareholder of the company.
