Guantou Village is located along the coast in the western part of Yueqing and served as one of the key access routes to the communication line of the Southern Zhejiang Special Committee. In May 1946, the Yueqing Central County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party decided to establish a transport and liaison station at the home of Zhang Xuemei, a Communist Party member in Guantou Village, Beibaixiang Town (the daughter of Zhang Huainan). Zhang Xuemei joined the Yueqing Student Anti-Japanese Propaganda Work Team in the autumn of 1944, joined the Chinese Communist Party at the same time, and later became part of the anti-Japanese guerrilla forces. Entrusted by the leaders of the Central County Committee, she wrote to her mother, Gao Zhixiang, recommending that the Communist Party member Zhou Ahua come to their home to work as a maid under the guise of domestic service, while actually serving as an underground transport liaison. Zhou’s progressive-thinking mother, who sympathized with and supported the revolution, gladly accepted the task. Many leaders of the Central County Committee, when traveling to Wenzhou or attending meetings of the Southern Zhejiang Special Committee, often stayed and ate at her home. The back door of her house was situated along the essential route used by boats traveling between Yueqing’s inland waterways and the Ou River. Nationalist soldiers frequently stopped and interrogated pedestrians there. Zhou Ahua worked at the Guantou Transport Station for 16 months, accompanying and seeing 16 comrades up to the mountain strongholds. The Guantou Transport Station played a major role in enabling underground party activities and recruiting intellectuals into the army.

The Guantou Transport Station is located on Hengchun Road, Guantou Village, Beibaixiang Town, Yueqing City. This former site is an old two-story wooden structure, flanked by newer houses. The old house has partially tilted, and after the liberation, the property was allocated for use by several households in Guantou Village.
