Dui Gaoshan Scenic Area
The Dui Gaoshan Scenic Area in Shangyu City lies within the golden tourism belt of eastern Zhejiang. The area features Xiufeng Nunnery, constructed in the mid-Ming Dynasty, which has a long history. It is said that the incense from the nunnery was believed to be spiritually potent, drawing many worshippers. Later, it was expanded by Master Shi Xingji, a distinguished monk from Shaolin Temple, into "Xiufeng Temple," with the architectural complex covering 38,000 square meters. A 2.8-meter-high Burmese jade Buddha serves as the mountain’s treasured relic. The Dui Gaoshan Scenic Area is characterized by undulating lush mountains and hills, cascading streams, and waterfalls. Among them, the Yuniang Waterfall stands 60 meters high with a powerful flow, while the Xiaolong Waterfall is adorned with ancient vines—when winter comes, snow hangs from the old vines, creating an antique charm. The Shenglong Waterfall is surrounded by towering trees, with green vines clinging to cliffs and deep stone caves. The Yufeng Stream meanders for 3,800 meters, with stone steps following its course along the rolling hills. Along the stream grow wild clusters of cherry and persimmon trees, as well as century-old elm, crape myrtle, and 4-meter-tall holly. As visitors ascend step by step, the scenery changes at every turn, offering breathtaking views highlighted by mountains, water, and forests—an enchanting landscape that refreshes the mind and spirit. It is an ideal destination for urban dwellers longing to return to simplicity, reconnect with nature, and seek spiritual rejuvenation.
