Yu Shui River
Yu Shui River is located in Zhujia Village, about 5 kilometers southeast of Shangyu city center.
Yu Shui River is flat and wide, with deep blue-black waters in the deeper parts and crystal-clear shallows. Legend has it that Zhu Yingtai often washed her hands and face in the river as a child, which gave the water a jade-like purity—hence the name Yu Shui River. Another story claims that when Yingtai was on her way to Hangzhou to study by boat, she accidentally dropped a precious heirloom jade into the river, making the water as smooth as jade.
