Shangyu Pedestrian Street
Shangyu Pedestrian Street is a vibrant “showcase” of Shangyu. It was transformed from Jiefang Street, which has a history of 50 years. Stretching 650 meters from Longshan Road in the south to Renmin Road in the north, the street was revitalized by the designers through facade cleaning, underground utility installation, pavement renewal, and landscape enhancement, infusing this old commercial street with more culture and leisure. Here, tradition meets modernity, classic blends with fashion, and shopping goes hand in hand with sightseeing—truly a place rich in cultural charm, bustling with commercial vitality, and filled with delightful scenery.
Shangyu Pedestrian Street is a dynamic scene where movement and stillness intertwine. Visitors are invariably captivated by its unique charm. The light-red granite-paved road, creatively designed clock sculpture, uniquely shaped space membrane pavilion, playful wind-driven sculpture, bright and stylish glass landscape wall, abstract and rugged constructed sculpture, lively fountain pool, vivid street scene sculptures, thoughtfully designed resting benches, fashionable and elegant European-style street lamps, delicate wooden flower pots, along with distinctive roadside kiosks, telephone booths, and lightbox advertisements—all showcase the street’s exquisite details and distinctive character.
