On the high ground of Duigao Mountain in Longpu Township, Zhangzhen, in the southern mountainous area of Shangyu City, there is a newly built Buddhist temple — Xiushan Temple.

Historical records indicate that Xiushan Temple was constructed in the third year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1630), but fell into disrepair over the years and was eventually abandoned. During the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty (1796–1820), it was rebuilt with funds raised by Monk Fayu. In 1957, the temple buildings had deteriorated, with walls collapsing and roofs caving in. By the time of the Cultural Revolution, only three dilapidated shrine rooms remained. Starting in 1994, Bhikkhuni Xingji raised funds to rebuild the temple. Over more than ten years, she successively oversaw the construction of hundreds of temple structures including the main hall, dining hall, chanting hall, and storage rooms, and also opened a several-kilometer mountain road connecting the temple from the base of the mountain.
