The water transport facilities, hydraulic engineering, and service infrastructure at the Cao’e River Port are located in Cao’e Subdistrict, Shangyu City, dating from the Western Jin Dynasty to the People’s Republic of China.

Cao’e Subdistrict: On January 7, 2011, it was announced as part of the sixth batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Cao’e Subdistrict: Located in the suburban fringe of Shangyu, Cao’e Subdistrict faces Baiguan Subdistrict (the old urban area) across the river and is connected by six bridges. It borders the Cao’e River to the east, Shangpu Town to the south, Dongguan Subdistrict to the west, and Daoxu Town to the north. The subdistrict covers an area of 40 square kilometers, with 10,556 mu of arable land, 12,000 mu of forested land, and administers 9 administrative villages, 18 residential villages, and 9 communities. It has a registered population of 57,500 and a migrant population of 111,300.
