Xiaoyue Tongxingli
Xiaoyue Tongxingli is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
Tongxingli is located in Hengshanxu Village, Xiaoyue Town, Shangyu District. It is a representative late Qing and early Republican-era Jiangnan-style residence that blends Chinese and Western architectural elements, built with funding from the renowned local philanthropist Chen Chunlan and his nephew. The name signifies “brothers united in heart, prospering together.” The main structure faces south and is laid out along three vertical and three horizontal axes, covering an area of 10 mu, with a construction area of nearly 4,000 square meters. The architectural layout is rigorous and imposing, combining Chinese and Western styles with a grand exterior and refined interior, making it the largest single-courtyard, gatehouse-style building in Shangyu.
In 2010, the “Chen Chunlan Life and Achievements Exhibition Hall” was set up along the central axis, with an exhibition area of nearly 2,000 square meters, vividly showcasing Chen Chunlan’s life journey through lifelike scene reconstructions. In January 2011, it was designated as a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
