Zhejiang Zhongxin Art Museum

Zhejiang Zhongxin Art Museum is located at No. 518 Shungeng Avenue, Shangyu District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province.

The museum spans a construction area of 12,000 square meters, with an exhibition space of more than 6,000 square meters. It houses ten exhibition halls that are furnished with first-class facilities. Climate-controlled display cases ensure the safety of the artifacts. More than 100 surveillance cameras provide full coverage to eliminate any security blind spots. Each exhibition hall is equipped with infrared alarm systems, air conditioning, and a fresh air system, ensuring both the safety of the relics and a comfortable visiting environment for guests. The overall architectural style of the museum is garden-inspired. Stepping inside feels like entering a classical Suzhou garden, with its white walls, black tiles, upturned eaves, pavilions, winding corridors, and small bridges over flowing water. The layout breaks away from the conventional, rigid arrangement typical of traditional museums. Instead, it adopts a flexible and categorized approach tailored to the nature of the museum and the characteristics of the exhibits. There are halls oriented north-south as well as east-west. While each exhibition hall is individually separated, the buildings are interconnected via corridors and terraces, forming relatively independent courtyards. Large gardens enclose smaller courtyards, creating a harmonious interplay of views, each with its own unique charm, offering visitors an abundance of sights—both artifacts and landscapes—that captivate the eye. With a rich variety of collections including furniture, calligraphy and paintings, antiquities, celadon ware, stone carvings, and architectural components, every visitor can experience the awe-inspiring beauty of art in a warm and inviting setting.
