The building was constructed in 1926 and was originally a private residence purchased by Madam Xu, the third wife of Zhang Zuolin, leader of the Fengtian Clique warlords, under the name “Qingjie Hall Xu.” Relatives of the Zhang family traveling between Beijing and the northeast often stayed in this residence until 1941, when the Zhang family sold the building to others.

The building is situated at the corner of Munan Road and Hong Kong Road. Its east and south sides face Machang Road, the west side borders Hong Kong Road, and the north side runs along Munan Road. It covers a land area of 650 square meters and has a construction area of 1,330 square meters. It is a three-story brick-and-wood structure in the style of an English courtyard house. The exterior features exposed king post trusses and a steep, multi-tiered roof with a well-balanced layout. Inside, there are rooms such as a living room, study, dining room, and bedrooms, all exquisitely decorated, making it a typical high-end British country-style villa. The building is currently in good condition.
