The building was constructed in 1937 by the son of Li Jifu, who was the comprador of the Tianjin branch of the British firm Jardine Matheson. After its completion, fearing the puppet regime, he did not reside there but rented it to a trading company. At the same time, a sign for the “Yanjing Alumni Association” was hung. It was later sold after the liberation.

The building faces Nanhai Road to the east, Chongqing Avenue to the south, Hebei Road to the west, and Luoyang Road to the north. It has a brick-concrete structure with a construction area of 2,496 square meters. This two-story Western-style building has a partial third floor. Designed by the renowned architect Qi Yushu, the entrance on the first floor is supported by stone pillars, forming a porch. On the right side above, there is a rectangular terrace with metal railings. The second floor features a row of casement windows, and at the corner under the eaves, there is a balcony spanning the passage, topped with a semi-circular canopy. The exterior walls are finished with cement, and the roof has a steep pitch with multiple skylights. It was once an elegant high-end garden villa within the former British Concession. The building is currently in good condition.
