Shoushan Hall was an institution established by the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians), a Catholic order based in Paris, France, to manage church properties in northern China. It primarily dealt in real estate and owned a large amount of property in Tianjin. As a powerful financial group at the time, it used rental income and investment profits to support the expenses of four dioceses—Tianjin, Beijing, Baoding, and Zhengding—as well as the Beijing Seminary. The hall was initially located within the former Zizhulin Church on Yingkou Road. After 1900, it moved to this location, and the current building was constructed in 1919. After the liberation of Tianjin, the hall was taken over by Chinese priests. In 1956, it was converted into the Tianjin Diocese Seminary, and in 1958, it became a convent for nuns of the Catholic Church.

The building is bordered by Jilin Road to the east, Yingkou Road to the south, Daguhai Road to the west, and Chengde Road to the north. It has a construction area of 1,544 square meters and is a two-story brick-and-wood structure. Featuring a multi-sloped tile roof, exterior cement finish, and a symmetrical facade with a central projection, it is a stately French-style building. The structure is currently in good condition.
