This building was constructed in 1926 and originally served as the private residence purchased under the family name “Qing Jie Tang Xu” by Madam Xu, the third concubine of Zhang Zuolin, leader of the Fengtian Clique military faction. Relatives of the Zhang family traveling between Beijing and Tianjin stayed at this residence until 1941, when the Zhangs sold the building.

The building is located at the corner of Munan Road and Hong Kong Road. It borders Machang Road on the east and south, Hong Kong Road on the west, and Munan Road on the north. Covering a land area of 650 square meters and a construction area of 1,330 square meters, it is a three-story brick-and-wood structure in the style of an English courtyard house. The exterior features exposed king post trusses and a steeply pitched multi-layered roof with varied heights. Inside, there are a living room, study, dining room, bedrooms, and more, all exquisitely decorated, making it a typical high-end British country villa-style residence. The building remains in good condition today.
