Guan Linzheng (1905–1980), originally named Zhidao, courtesy name Yudong, was from Huxian County, Shaanxi Province. He was a lieutenant general in the Nationalist Army. In his youth, he put down his pen to take up arms, enrolled in the Whampoa Military Academy as a member of the first class. After graduation, he participated in the Eastern Expedition and the Northern Expedition. During the War of Resistance against Japan, he led the 52nd Army under his command in fierce battles against the Japanese army around Gubeikou and Taierzhuang along the Great Wall. Due to the bravery and effectiveness of his troops, who repeatedly defeated the Japanese, he was nicknamed “Iron Fist Guan.” When Li Zongren served as the acting president of the Nationalist government, Guan was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Army. In November 1948, while en route to Taiwan with his family from Chengdu, he stayed behind in Hong Kong on pretext and subsequently lived there in seclusion, devoting his days to reading and calligraphy. In his later years, he was deeply concerned about his homeland, longed for his hometown, and ardently hoped for an early end to the separation between Taiwan and mainland China, aspiring for national reunification. After his death, Marshal Xu Xiangqian sent a message of condolence to Hong Kong, mourning his fellow Whampoa alumnus.

The building is bounded by Chongqing Road to the east, Changsha Road to the south, Chengdu Road to the west, and Hunan Road to the north. It has a construction area of 390 square meters and is a three-story brick-and-wood structure. The exterior features exposed red brick walls, with a semicircular tower in the central facade. The courtyard originally had a lawn, flower beds, and a fishpond. It is a British-style residential building with a garden layout.

The building is currently in good condition.
