: The Great Buddha Rock Scenic Area is located in the northwest of the island. The area is renowned for Great Buddha Rock, the iconic landmark of Peach Blossom Island. Legend has it that the immortal An Qisheng once dripped ink here, creating the peach blossom stone, and it was also the main activity site of Huang Yaoshi, the master of Peach Blossom Island in Jin Yong’s novel "The Legend of the Condor Heroes." In 2001, China’s only island-based film and television base — the "Condor Heroes Tourist City" — was built by the Scattering Flowers Lake in this scenic area. Over 50 Song Dynasty-style pavilions, waterside pavilions, and ornamental gates were constructed along the mountains and waterfront, arranged in an artful layout to form landscapes such as Lin’an Street, Huang Yaoshi’s Villa, Guiyun Villa, and the Temple of the South Emperor. All these attractions were designed based on scenes from Jin Yong’s "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," showcasing a profound architectural style of the Southern Song Dynasty and a mysterious martial arts atmosphere. Other attractions in the area include the Clear Sound Cave, the One-Line Sky, and the Dingshou Nunnery. Climbing to the top of Great Buddha Rock offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Zhoushan Archipelago, resembling a garden of aquatic potted plants, presenting a scene full of poetic charm. As the birthplace of Peach Blossom Island’s martial arts culture, the Great Buddha Rock Scenic Area serves as the starting point of the martial arts culture tourism route.
