Xuanshan Island is a uniquely beautiful natural scenic park. The island boasts stunning and distinctive natural landscapes, with winding coastlines, towering cliffs, rugged reefs, numerous caves, extensive beaches, and lush greenery. Due to the undulating terrain, every hundred steps offers a different view—truly a “scene at every step”—with natural attractions scattered all over the island.

Its main sights include: the “Broken Cliff” precipice, sapphire sea and golden sands, crescent moon over the mid-mountain, tidal listening at Shiyao, viewing ocean waves from the mid-mountain cliffs, watching the returning stone atop the Dachuyan Cliff, gazing at Tiedeng Mountain from afar, and watching the sunrise over the blue sea. There are also unique natural landscapes such as turtles emerging from the sea, dragons exiting their caves, a Buddha lying on the waves, three reefs reflecting the moon, a single pillar holding up the sky, a turtle guarding the dragon throne, a green dragon spitting pearls, and exploring the mysteries of caves.

In addition, Xuanshan Island has a high forest coverage rate and is abundant in various wild plants. Many of these plants are unique to the island, such as Zhoushan New Cinnamomum, the city tree of Zhoushan, which is a second-class nationally protected plant, as well as wild narcissus and camellias. Many areas of the island are rarely visited by humans, with well-preserved pristine vegetation, giving visitors a sense of “returning to nature,” making it an ideal destination for eco-tourism on the island.

Shoreline Fishing: The waters around Xuanshan Island are dotted with reefs and teeming with fish. Visitors only need to bring a fishing rod, gather some rock crabs on the reefs as bait, and they can start fishing, experiencing the joy of sea angling.

Beach Shell Collecting: The coastal reefs of Xuanshan Island are rich in shellfish, including horseshoe snails, sesame snails, yellow snails, spicy snails, Buddha’s hands, oysters, hats, and barnacles. Visitors often go in small groups to the shore to collect shells and snails, adding a special charm to the experience.
