Attraction Introduction

Qianbu Beach is the largest beach on Putuo Mountain, located on the eastern coast of the mountain, not far from Fayu Temple to the north. It stretches from the northern part of Jibao Ridge in the south to Wanghai Pavilion in the northeast, spanning nearly 2 kilometers in total. Qianbu Beach is more expansive than Bai Bu Sha to its south, and its sand is even finer, making it an ideal spot for enjoying the sea waves.

Many visitors choose to come here after mountain climbing and temple visits. Walking barefoot on the beach, feeling the sea breeze and listening to the tide can help you unwind, and any fatigue from the day fades away. At the northern end of the beach, there is a large rock that emerges when the tide recedes, engraved with the characters "Listen to the Tide." A stone staircase leads up to Wanghai Pavilion from there, offering a vast, open view of the sea. Additionally, from Qianbu Beach, you can also see the sea-bound Reclining Buddha — Mount Luojia.

If you want to watch the sunrise over the sea, it’s recommended to stay at a hotel near Qianbu Beach, check the sunrise time, get up early, and wait on the beach. The boundary area between Bai Bu Sha and Qianbu Beach, known as Chaoyang Cave, is the best sunrise spot on Putuo Mountain. Meanwhile, taking an evening stroll on Qianbu Beach to admire the moon and the mountain’s night scenery is quite poetic.

Qianbu Beach has a flat and wide sandy shore with very soft and clean sand. Although its swimming facilities are not as developed as those at Bai Bu Sha, many visitors still come here to swim in summer. Staying at a hotel near Qianbu Beach is a good choice if you want to swim—you can walk to the water in slippers, then return to rinse off and change. Moreover, at night, the beach often attracts small crabs, which many visitors find fun to hunt for using flashlights.

There are two dedicated bus lines connecting major attractions on Putuo Mountain

Line 1: Putuo Temple East (Bai Bu Sha) – Bai Bu Pavilion – Zhuzhulin (Guanyin of the South Sea Statue) – Sanmodi (Nantianmen Gate) – Ferry Terminal – Haifang Xincun (Xishan Xincun Zone 1) – Seafood Park (Xishan Xincun Zone 2) – Baotuo Hotel – Putuo Temple West (West Mountain Scenic Area Entrance)

Line 2: Ferry Terminal – Sanmodi (Nantianmen Gate) – Zhuzhulin (Guanyin of the South Sea Statue) – Bai Bu Pavilion – Putuo Temple East (Bai Bu Sha) – Xianrenjing (Chaoyang Cave) – Dacheng’an – Fayu Temple (Qianbu Beach) – Feishawo – Xianghui’an – Fan Yin Cave – Baoyue’an – Ancient Buddha Cave – Cable Car Station

In addition to the two dedicated tourist bus lines, there are also point-to-point shuttle buses operating between major scenic spots on Putuo Mountain. Vehicles are dispatched based on passenger flow and managed via radio by staff.
