Stone Houses in Dashu Bay, Dongji Island

Dongfu Island is full of fishing village charm, with dark green fishing nets hanging at the doors. The houses are all built from the island’s original stones—stone buildings, stone walls, and stone-paved paths create a world of stone. To prevent strong winds from blowing away the roof tiles, rows of stones are placed on top. These seaside stone houses, specially built to resist typhoons, have now become one of the most distinctive attractions in the Dongji Islands. The stone houses helped fishermen survive numerous typhoon seasons while also bringing visitors awe and admiration.

Transportation

In Zhoushan, you can take bus routes 3, 6, 7, 9, 13, 15, 20, or 29 to Banshengdong Station, then walk a few minutes to reach Shenjiamen Banshengdong Wharf. From there, take a boat to Miaozihu Island.

Shenjiamen – Miaozihu

Boats depart from Shenjiamen daily at 8:30 AM, with the return trip at 11:00 AM.

Lower cabin: ¥100, middle cabin: ¥130, upper cabin: ¥150.

Miaozihu – Qingbang – Dongfu

Boats depart daily from Miaozihu at 7:30 and 11:00, and from Dongfu at 8:30 and 12:00, with a stop at Qingbang en route.

One-way fare: Miaozihu – Qingbang ¥20, Miaozihu – Dongfu ¥30.

After arriving at Dongfu Island, you can walk directly to the site.
