Dongji Island Sunrise Viewing Platform

The first ray of sunlight in the new century was determined by the Royal Greenwich Observatory in the UK. The first ray of sunlight on an inhabited island on the Chinese mainland was on Dongfushan. The sunrise time was 6:42 AM on January 1, 2001, and the spot is located at the easternmost part of the island.

Transportation

In Zhoushan, you can take bus routes 3, 6, 7, 9, 13, 15, 20, or 29 and get off at Banshengdong Station. Then walk for a few minutes to reach Shenjiamen Banshengdong Pier, where you can take a boat to Miaozihu Island.

Shenjiamen – Miaozihu

Boats depart from Shenjiamen daily at 8:30 AM and return at 11:00 AM.

Lower cabin: ¥100, Middle cabin: ¥130, Upper cabin: ¥150.

Miaozihu – Qingbang – Dongfushan

Boats depart daily at 7:30 and 11:00 from Miaozihu, and at 8:30 and 12:00 from Dongfushan, with a stop at Qingbang en route.

One-way fare: Miaozihu – Qingbang ¥20, Miaozihu – Dongfushan ¥30.

After arriving at Dongfushan Island, walk directly to reach the site.
