The statue of Caibo Gong stands atop Fanghuo Mountain on Miaozihu Island, reaching a height of 22.4 meters, and serves as the symbol of Dongji. Caobo Gong was the first person to arrive on Dongji Island and is remembered as the real-life figure who once lit fires to guide fishing boats. His image is quite impressive.

When you’re approaching Dongji by boat, you can see from a distance a statue atop the mountain holding a torch — this is Caibo Gong, also known as the “Statue of Liberty” among locals.

Transportation

In Zhoushan, you can take bus routes 3, 6, 7, 9, 13, 15, 20, or 29 and get off at Banshipeng Cave Station. From there, it’s a short walk to Shenjiamen Banshipeng Dock, where you can take a ferry to Miaozihu Island.

Shenjiamen – Miaozihu

Ferries depart from Shenjiamen daily at 8:30 AM, with the return trip at 11:00 AM.

Lower cabin: 100 RMB, middle cabin: 130 RMB, upper cabin: 150 RMB. The journey takes about 2 hours.

After arriving at Miaozihu, you can walk to the site.
