Fu Ru Dong Hai (Happiness as Vast as the East Sea) is located on the western hillside of Dongfushan Island. According to research by experts, the “Fu Ru Dong Hai” (Happiness as Vast as the East Sea) in the saying “May your happiness be as vast as the East Sea, may your life be as enduring as the South Mountain” refers to Dongfushan Island. There is a unique rock on the hillside that can rival the “No. 1 Wonder Stone in the World” at Mount Putuo, the Buddhist Kingdom by the Sea. The stone is inscribed with the character “Fu” (Happiness), known as the “No. 1 Happiness in the World.” Legend has it that those who come here will gain more happiness and longevity.

Transportation

In Zhoushan, you can take bus routes 3, 6, 7, 9, 13, 15, 20, or 29 to Banshengdong Station, then walk a few minutes to reach the Shenjiamen Banshengdong Wharf. From there, take a ferry to Miaozihu Island.

Shenjiamen – Miaozihu

Ferries depart from Shenjiamen daily at 8:30 AM, with the return trip at 11:00 AM.

Lower cabin: 100 RMB, middle cabin: 130 RMB, upper cabin: 150 RMB. The journey takes about 2 hours.

Miaozihu – Qingbang – Dongfushan: Ferries depart daily at 7:30 AM and 11:00 AM from Miaozihu, and at 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM from Dongfushan, with a stop at Qingbang en route.

One-way fare: Miaozihu – Qingbang: 20 RMB, Miaozihu – Dongfushan: 30 RMB.

After arriving at Dongfushan Island, walk directly to the site.
