By the early years of the liberation, only three monks lived there. The present-day Jieping Chan Temple is a newly renovated temple, located beneath Guanyin Cave and close to the southern entrance of the "West Heaven Scenic Area" docks. Jieping Chan Temple is small yet elegant. As it mainly serves as a place for monks and nuns to study Buddhist teachings, the temple sees no tourist crowds and lacks incense smoke. The main hall is the Yuantong Treasure Hall, which enshrines the Water-Moon Guanyin.
