Zhujiajian Shili Golden Sands

On the southeastern coast of Zhujiajian Island, five golden, silk-like beaches stretch out in a winding fashion. Sheltered by capes, each beach forms an independent scenic spot, connecting one after another to create an expansive chain of sandy shores, spanning over 5,000 meters in total length, hence the name “Shili Golden Sands.”

It mainly consists of five closely adjacent golden-sand beaches: Dongsha, Nansha, Qiansha, Lisha, and Qingsha.

Comparison of the Five Beaches: Dongsha is the largest of the five, predominantly featuring villa developments; Nansha is the most developed and is the most ideal spot for beach bathing and water sports; Lisha stands out for its natural landscape, home to a forest of Pistacia chinensis, and is close to the Lisha Ecological Park and the rare thousand-year-old Podocarpus macrophyllus; Qingsha is named for its proximity to the Daqing Mountain Scenic Area.

The golden sands are fine and soft like velvet, with gently sloping shores and vast beach areas, covering a total of 1.44 square kilometers, accounting for one-fourth of the total sandy beach area in Zhejiang Province. Among them, there are 16.4 million square meters of shallow sea with depths of less than 2 meters, where summer water temperatures can reach 23.2–24.4°C. The seawater has low sand content, only 35.8–44.8 grams per cubic meter in summer. Tests have shown that all indicators of the five beaches meet international standards for seaside bathing beaches, making them excellent spots for swimming.

Strolling along Shili Golden Sands, the scenery is enchanting all year round, especially refreshing and delightful in summer and autumn. Recently, the “Shili Golden Sands Fishing Garden” has been built within the scenic area, becoming a featured attraction for tourism in Zhujiajian. Visitors can go boating on the fishing lake, try their hand at fishing, or splash around in the water.
