Dajue Chan Temple

Located east of Dabei Chan Temple, Dajue Chan Temple is a simple and unadorned temple complex. Within its grounds stands a Hall of Fertility, where devout worshippers come to pray for children. The temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and the current structure was rebuilt on the original site in 1988.

The main hall of Dajue Chan Temple is the Mahavira Hall, which enshrines the Three World Buddhas: Sakyamuni Buddha in the center, with Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha) and Amitabha Buddha on the eastern and western sides respectively. To the west of the main hall is the Hall of Child-Giving, which houses a statue of Guanyin the Child-Giver seated with a child.

Opposite the temple stands a screen wall, upon which is inscribed the Sanskrit Heart Sutra of Sakyamuni — “??अ?恕比?郑? The middle section features closely packed small characters, and although it may not be immediately legible to casual observers, it holds profound spiritual significance.
