Guanyin Mountain Guangji Temple

Guanyin Mountain Guangji Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located on the southern slope of Guanyin Mountain, facing the sea, it consists of three distinctive temples: the Upper, Middle, and Lower Temples — Hongfu Temple (Upper Guangji), Puqing Temple (Middle Guangji), and Hongyin Temple (Lower Guangji).

Hongfu Temple was first built in the fourth year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1854), located at the summit of Guanyin Mountain. The main hall’s structure uniquely combines elements of a hall, room, pavilion, and garden, making it quite distinctive. The hall enshrines a standing statue of Guanyin and the Eighteen Arhats.

Puqing Temple was first built in the forty-ninth year of the Qianlong reign (1784). This temple is grand in scale and serves as the activity center of Guangji Temple. The main hall is nine meters high and enshrines a six-meter-tall statue of Guanyin, flanked by 36 marble statues depicting the various forms of Guanyin.

To the west behind the main hall is the Ksitigarbha Hall, and to the east is the Thousand Buddha Hall. The Thousand Buddha Hall houses over 1,000 Buddha statues of varying sizes, all carved from white marble, gleaming white and lifelike — a truly rare sight.

Hongyin Temple was first built during the Tongzhi era (1862–1874). It enshrines a marble statue of Guanyin. The temple is deep and entirely made of wood, with its halls divided into upper and lower levels.
