Qinglong Mountain Park is a popular spot for leisure and exercise among the people of Zhoushan, as well as a feng shui treasure of Shenjiamen. Many legends are associated with Qinglong Mountain. Stretching from north to south, the dragon’s body cradles Shenjiamen, while its head gazes toward the renowned Shenjiamen Fishing Port, with its eyes located between Bin Gang Road and the mountain’s summit. If you stand on the opposite side in Lujiashi, you’ll see what looks like an eye — half-open, half-closed, yet exuding immense majesty.

Upon reaching the foot of the green mountain, the first thing that catches your eye is a grand stone gate inscribed with five large characters: 青山公园 (Qingshan Park). Entering the mountain gate of Qinglong Mountain Park, you’ll find a pathway built along the mountainside that leads to a memorial square. In the center of the square stands a 15-meter-high (with a 2.8-meter-high base), 11-meter-long, and 6-meter-wide revolutionary martyrs’ monument made of reinforced concrete. As you climb up the steep stone steps, lush trees line both sides of the path, their branches clustered tightly together without any gaps. Birds chirp cheerfully amidst the woods, creating a vibrant and lively scene. Halfway up the mountain, there is a hexagonal pavilion whose roof is carved with nine vivid dragons, witnesses to the magic of Qinglong Mountain. Taking a rest here sparks the imagination. Continuing along the stone-paved path to the mountaintop, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing sense of openness and a sweeping view of the bustling Shenjiamen Fishing Port — a true embodiment of the saying “The Azure Dragon watches over Shenjiamen.”
