Putuo Mountain Duogu Wharf is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

Putuo Mountain Duogu Wharf is located in Putuo Mountain Town, Putuo District, Zhoushan City, dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

Heading east from the main gate of Putuo Mountain, there is a famous scenic spot by the sea called "Duogu Shengji" (Duogu Historic Site). Since ancient times, it has been a natural stone pier and the only wharf where all boats docked. From the late Yuan to the early Ming Dynasty, a touching local legend has been passed down about a woman and her sister-in-law arriving at Putuo Mountain to worship together by boat. Since then, the ancient wharf has been known as "Duogu Wharf." During the Song and Yuan dynasties, pilgrims from countries such as Japan and Korea came to Putuo Mountain by boat in an endless stream, which also gave rise to its colloquial name "Goryeo Dock." It wasn’t until 1983 that the Putuo Mountain Administration built a 10,000-ton wharf on the west side of the dock, ending its role as a ferry terminal, thus turning it into a scenic site where both domestic and international tourists come to explore history and nostalgia.

Today, "Duogu Wharf" still retains a complete stone pier over 20 meters long and 9 meters wide. On the largest rocks on both sides of the pier, one can see the seal script carving of "Duogu Shengji."

On January 13, 2017, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province announced it as part of the seventh batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units.

Putuo Mountain Town: A town directly under the jurisdiction of Zhoushan City. In the second year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1910), it belonged to Luotuo Township. In 1934, Putuo Mountain Township was established, followed by Putuo Township in 1935. In 1956, Putuo Mountain Township was re-established, and in 1958, it became Donghai Commune. In 1961, it was renamed Putuo Mountain Commune, and in 1984, it reverted to township status. In 1989, it was upgraded to a town. Located in the central sea area of the district, it is 9 kilometers from the district government. It governs 24 islands and 10 reefs, with a land area of 12.5 square kilometers and a population of 5,000.
