The former site of Melchers Trading Company is a protected cultural heritage site of Tianjin.

The former site of Melchers Trading Company is located at No. 174 Dagu North Road, Heping District, and is a protected cultural heritage site of Tianjin.

Melchers Trading Company was founded in Bremen, Germany, and was one of the earlier German businesses to operate in Tianjin. As far back as the late Qing Dynasty, it had already entered the Chinese market. The company had close relationships with Deutsche-Asiatische Bank, as well as other firms such as Lihua, Shichang, and Siemens. It procured large quantities of military supplies for the Qing government, as well as for the Huai Army and Xiang Army at the time, earning substantial profits.

The Tianjin building of Melchers Trading Company was constructed in the early 20th century as the branch office of the German firm. It is a three-story mixed-structure building, with parts extending to four stories, covering a floor area of 2,400 square meters.
