The former office site of Zeng Shan in Datun is a classic red tourism attraction.

In February 1938, the Yangtze River Bureau and the Southeast Bureau of the CPC Central Committee reached a consensus on incorporating the Min-Zhe Border Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Column into the New Fourth Army and on the Party’s work arrangements in Zhejiang. Zeng Shan, Deputy Secretary and Head of the Organization Department of the Southeast Bureau, was specially dispatched to southern Zhejiang to convey these decisions to Liu Ying and Su Yu. On the 28th, Zeng Shan, accompanied by Long Yue, Secretary of the CPC Southern Zhejiang Special Committee who came to report on work, and Yu Longgui, a cadre of the Advance Division, left Nanchang (then the headquarters of the New Fourth Army) for Pingyang. The trio arrived in Pingyang County in early March, walked from the county town to Aojiang Town, and met with Wu Yu, head of the Wenzhou Office of the Min-Zhe Border Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Column. Then, Zeng Shan, Wu Yu, Long Yue, and Yu Longgui waited for the tide and took a wooden boat up the Aojiang River to arrive at Shuitou in Pingyang, where they were met by Zheng Haixiao, Secretary of the Pingyang County Committee, who had been stationed there to welcome them. The next morning, accompanied by Zheng Haixiao, Zeng Shan and others walked from Shuitou Street to Shanmen. Liu Ying and Su Yu, along with commanders and fighters of the Min-Zhe Border Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Column, as well as faculty and students of the Min-Zhe Border Anti-Japanese Salvation Cadre School, lined both sides of Shanmen Street to welcome them. Afterwards, Liu Ying and Su Yu accompanied Zeng Shan to Longjing Temple. That day, Red Army soldiers and anti-Japanese cadet school participants held a joint meal to welcome Zeng Shan. Then, Liu Ying and Su Yu took Zeng Shan to the temporary provincial committee headquarters in Datun Village. Zeng Shan stayed in a room at the home of Zheng Yongsheng in the southeastern part of Datun Village, sharing the space with Liu Ying—Zeng Shan in the front half and Liu Ying in the back half. In Liu Ying’s residence, which also served as his office, Zeng Shan conveyed the directives from the CPC Central Committee and the Southeast Bureau, briefed on the status of anti-Japanese salvation struggles across various regions, listened in detail to work reports from Liu Ying and Su Yu, and together discussed issues such as the further reorganization of the troops.

The former office site of Zeng Shan in Datun is located at the home of Zheng Yongsheng in Datun Village, Shanmen Town, Pingyang. The residence is a seven-room wooden structure with a floor area of about 12 square meters.

The former office site of Zeng Shan in Datun is part of the national classic red tourism attraction — the Zhejiang South (Pingyang) Revolutionary Base Site Cluster, and is also a national patriotic education base.
