East Cave

East Cave

East Cave is located on the rocky bank of the South Yandang Stream. The cave entrance faces south and is shaped like a round gate. On the left wall of the entrance are inscribed two large characters reading "East Cave." Standing at the cave’s mouth, you can feel a cool breeze blowing out in summer, which is refreshingly pleasant. Exiting the cave leads to an open vertical shaft about 8 meters in diameter, with sheer walls rising over 20 meters high. On the upper northeastern wall of the cave, there rises a pillar-like Hua Biao Peak, over 40 meters high. Below it, a stone beam spans the air in a semi-circular arch, inscribed with the words "East Heaven Gate." Passing through it leads to the Huiwen Academy.
