West Stone Beam Cave

Located in the Yanhu Scenic Area, about 1 kilometer west of Han Zhu Peak. Ascending the stone steps from the mountain foot, you will see a cave hanging high to the south, with a large purple-and-white stone beam leaning against the cave entrance.

Inside the cave are left and right chambers, both spacious and airy. The right cave is about 20 meters wide, 30 meters high, and 10 meters deep, housing a five-room wooden building constructed during the Qing Dynasty. The left cave is smaller at the top and larger at the bottom, shaped like a cone. Originally, flying springs cascaded from its roof, and the uneven ground features sloping rock walls that block the way—scenic, yet difficult to enter.

In ancient times, the area around the cave was overgrown with banana plants, hence it was also called Banana Cave or Banana Grove Cave. The opening four lines of the Qing poet Lin Wenlang’s poem “Banana Cave” read: “Bananas grow thick all around in green array; / From cave’s mouth flows the fairy spring night and day. / Its hues are like pearls, like jade so bright, / Its sounds are fit for wind or for soft night.”

Standing at the cave entrance and looking diagonally to the right, you can see sights such as Pig Head Rock and the Boy Worshiping Guanyin.
