Skylight Cave

Located in the Lingyan Scenic Area. Originally called Tiancong Cave, Skylight Cave has an entrance shaped like an ear opening. The cave contains smaller caves within, and sunlight streams in from the bottom. This cave is extraordinary both inside and out; it was one of the “Two Wonders of Lingyan” as described by Yuan dynasty’s Li Xiaoguang in “Lingyan Erqi.” The Ming dynasty traveler Xu Xiake also documented his exploration into the cave’s depths in his travel writings.
