Destination Introduction

Lao Zhangtou Vineyard is situated in the picturesque and ecologically favorable Xiaotangshan area on the outskirts of Beijing, spanning nearly 200 acres. It is bordered by Tangshan Hot Springs to the west, Yanshan Pagoda Forest to the north, Jiuhua Resort to the east, and linked directly to the city via Daliushu Roundabout and Litang Road to the south. The vineyard enjoys fresh air, a serene environment, and convenient access. It has gradually developed into a diversified agricultural production base focusing primarily on grape cultivation and has established the “Lao Zhangtou” series of brands that represent the estate’s unique character and identity.

Lao Zhangtou Vineyard has carefully selected and cultivated over 30 premium grape varieties from major growing regions across China, with tens of thousands of fruit plants now in their prime fruit-bearing period.

The vineyard adheres to the use of organic farmyard manure, avoids chemical fertilizers, high-residue pesticides, growth hormones, ripening agents, and swelling agents. It upholds green, natural, and organic development principles, resulting in Lao Zhangtou grapes with high sugar content, thick flesh, and excellent taste. In particular, the Kyoho grape is highly acclaimed locally for its sweet flavor and has become the flagship variety of Lao Zhangtou Vineyard. Special Note

Main Varieties:

Kyoho: The flesh is soft and juicy, with a relatively sweet taste and a hint of strawberry aroma. Sugar content reaches 15%, and it stores and transports well. The berries are large, oval-shaped, and purple-red in color. They have a moderately thick bloom and skin, plump flesh, and a relatively crisp texture. When fully ripe, they offer a balanced sweet and sour taste, with soluble solids content reaching 14.5%. The quality is excellent, and the grapes do not crack. As the representative variety of Lao Zhangtou Vineyard, it is highly favored by consumers.

Beauty Finger: The clusters are medium to large with no lateral shoulders; the berries are large and slender. The tips of the berries are bright red, smooth, and glossy, while the base is slightly lighter in color—resembling a lady’s fingers painted with red nail polish—hence the name. The skin and flesh are not easily separated; the skin is thin but tough, and the berries rarely crack. The flesh is firm and semi-transparent, can be sliced, has little aroma, and offers a soluble solids content of 16%–19% with extremely low acidity. The taste is sweet, crisp, and of superior quality.

Black Honey: An American-European hybrid, bred from natural seedlings of Kyoho. The clusters are large, and the berries are heavy with deep blue-black skin, a thick bloom, and good coloration. The skin is relatively thick, the flesh is fairly crisp, the sweetness is intense, and there is a fragrant aroma. Sugar content ranges from 18%–23%, the highest among grape varieties, with top-tier quality and good storage and transport capabilities.

Takao: An American-European hybrid originating from Japan. The clusters are large and conical, with exceptionally large berries averaging 15 grams each. They color very easily, are very firm, with black or purplish-black skins. The flesh is fairly crisp, does not shatter, and the skin and flesh are not easily separated. It has a rose-like fragrance and is of premium quality.

Jingxiu: The clusters are conical and large, with tightly and evenly spaced berries. The berries are oval-shaped, with rose-red or bright purple-red skins. The flesh is crisp, sweet, low in acidity, high in soluble solids, and low in acid, making it of excellent quality.

Musk (Muscat): The most popular variety among locals in Beijing. The clusters are large and conical, the berries are small and round, with purple or purplish-black skins and a moderately thick bloom. The flesh is crisp, juicy, with sugar content of 18%–20%, a mellow sweet taste, low acidity, and a rich musky aroma. The quality is excellent.

Transportation: Take Bus 803 (Express) from Qianmen, Wangfujing, or Asian Games Village; take Bus 97 from Dongzhimen or Wangjing, get off at Xingshou Town Government.

Self-driving Route: Via Litang Road, the Beijing-Changping Expressway, or the Beijing-Chengde Expressway, drive to Daliushu Roundabout and head north for four kilometers.
