Jade Kettle Temple

Jade Kettle Temple is located in the Jade Rainbow Cave beneath Yujue Peak at Baishi in Yueqing. It was founded in 995 AD (the first year of the Zhi Dao era of the Northern Song Dynasty) by the Taoist master Li Shaohé. Emperors Taizong and Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty both summoned the master and sent envoys to escort him back to the mountain. In 1013, it was bestowed the name Baishi Temple, and in 1119, it was renamed Jizhen.

The temple now welcomes worshippers throughout the year and stands as one of Zhejiang’s well-known Taoist sites. It was renovated in 1986 and given its current name. To the west lies the newly developed White Dragon Cave, alongside historical relics such as Scripture Storage Valley and the Ascension Terrace.
