Yongle People's Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Guerrilla Corps Memorial Hall

The Yongle People's Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Guerrilla Corps (abbreviated as the Yongle Corps) was the main force that persisted in armed anti-Japanese resistance in southern Zhejiang during the War of Resistance against Japan. It was part of the New Fourth Army and served as the foundation for the growth of the Kuocang Detachment (later known as the Third Detachment) of the Southern Zhejiang Guerrilla Column of the Chinese People's Liberation Army during the Liberation War. It made outstanding contributions to the cause of national independence and people's liberation in southern Zhejiang and the Kuocang region.

The Yongle People's Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Guerrilla Corps Memorial Hall is located in Zeji Village, Lingdi Township, Yueqing City. The original hall was built in 1997, and its name was inscribed by Zhang Aiping, former Minister of National Defense. In 2006, the Yueqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Municipal People's Government decided to renovate and expand the memorial hall. The new building was completed in June 2009, and an official inauguration ceremony was held in October of the same year. The renovation and expansion project had a total investment of over 12 million yuan, covering an area of 6.1 mu (approximately 0.41 hectares) with a total floor space of 1,920 square meters. The exhibition is divided into four sections: The History of Party Building, The Flames of Anti-Japanese Resistance, The Winds of Liberation, and The New Look of the Old Revolutionary Base Area. It comprehensively and in detail reflects the long, arduous, and extraordinary struggle carried out by the Yueqing (Kuocang) Party and guerrilla forces during the New Democratic Revolution period, as well as the remarkable achievements they accomplished. At the same time, it also showcases the great accomplishments of the Yueqing people in socialist modernization, especially during the new era of reform and opening up, through their implementation of the Party’s basic line and various principles and policies. The exhibition halls are fully equipped with advanced facilities and innovative display methods, featuring a large number of precious photos, textual materials, and artifacts. They also utilize modern technological means such as scene reconstructions, holographic imaging, and multimedia, giving the exhibition halls educational, aesthetic, participatory, and interactive features.

The Yongle People's Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Guerrilla Corps Memorial Hall is a Zhejiang Provincial Defense Education Base.
