Former Site of the Meeting of the Lishui County Committee of the Communist Party of China

The Former Site of the Meeting of the Lishui County Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism attraction.

In September 1944, Japanese forces occupied Lishui, constructing airfields, roads, radio stations, and ammunition depots in coastal areas such as Panshi, Huanghua, and Shenjiang. They also established puppet regimes in towns and villages under their control, showing clear signs of prolonged occupation. On September 20 and October 5, the Lishui County Committee of the Communist Party of China held two meetings in Nanao Natural Village, Zeji, Lingdi Township. The meetings concluded that Lishui was no longer a typical area under Kuomintang rule but rather an enemy-occupied and guerrilla zone, necessitating a shift in the Party’s work approach to align with the changing situation. The meetings made five key decisions: first, to swiftly establish and expand anti-Japanese armed forces under the Party; second, to help form and win over anti-Japanese allied forces; third, to engage with educated youth; fourth, to strengthen work related to the Anti-Japanese National United Front; fifth, to carry out anti-Japanese propaganda and train cadres. It was also decided that Zhou Peizhen would be responsible for organizing the anti-Japanese armed forces, while Ye Lingyin would oversee united front work.

The Former Site of the Meeting of the Lishui County Committee of the Communist Party of China is located in Nanao Natural Village, Zeji, Lingdi Township, Lishui City. The site covers an area of approximately 80 square meters and consists of an old stone house with wooden interior structures. The building is surrounded by forested hills, offering a beautiful natural environment.
