Former Site of the Establishment of the Huangle County Democratic Government

The Former Site of the Establishment of the Huangle County Democratic Government is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Yongle-Huang Border Area was an important part of the Kuocang Guerrilla Base during the Liberation War. On April 14, 1949, the CPC Southern Zhejiang Regional Committee decided to reorganize the Yongle-Huang Border Area as Huangle County. From April 25 to 29, the Fourth Expanded Meeting of the CPC Kuocang Central County Committee was held to announce the decision of the Regional Committee, leading to the formation of the Huangle County Democratic Government, which administered four districts: Dajing, Wuyan, Yuanqiao, and Daxi. Comrade Huang Yitao was appointed as the Secretary of the Huangle County Party Committee and also served as the County Magistrate. On May 11, the grand inaugural meeting of the Huangle County Democratic Government was held at the playground of Dajing Primary School, attended by over 1,000 people including party members from Dajing District and parts of Wenling and Huangyan counties, members of farmers' associations, peasant self-defense team members, Women's Federation members, and representatives from all walks of life. Huang Yitao delivered a speech at the meeting and read out the “Seven-Point Provisional Governance Program.” After the meeting, district and township governments were successively established. On June 1, Huang Yitao led more than 200 county government officials and guards from Dajing to Huangyan. Under the unified command of Detachment Commander Zhou Peizhen, they entered the Huangyan County seat and took over the former government. In late June, following instructions from the Zhejiang Provincial Committee, the Wuyan, Yuanqiao, and Daxi districts under Huangle County’s jurisdiction were transferred to Taizhou, and the Huangle County government returned to Dajing. On September 1, Dajing was merged into Yueqing, and the Huangle County administration was disbanded. Huangle County had honorably fulfilled its historical mission.

The Former Site of the Establishment of the Huangle County Democratic Government is located at the playground of the Dajing Town Government in Yueqing City.
