The Site of the Former Establishment of the Lishui District Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism attraction.

In the autumn of 1928, Zheng Xin, a special envoy of the Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Yongjia County Committee, arrived in Lishui to restore and develop the Party’s organization in accordance with instructions from the Provincial Committee, and established the Lishui District Committee of the Communist Party of China in Che’ao Village. In March 1930, the Third Expanded Meeting of the Yongjia Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out: “The most urgent central task of the Party at present is to mobilize the masses, launch struggles against famine, and prepare for local uprisings,” while also instructing that “if the Lishui County Committee cannot be established for the time being, Comrades Cai and Zhou shall be responsible.” Following the directives of the Yongjia Central County Committee, the Lishui District Committee actively organized peasants to engage in struggles against famine, leading to the establishment of 80 Poor Peasants’ Associations (also known as Poverty Relief Societies) across the county with over 500 members. It also organized campaigns against the village governance system and land registration. By the second half of 1930, the Lishui District Committee had expanded to include 12 branches and 75 Party members. In the winter of 1930, following severe setbacks in the struggle of the 13th Red Army and the destruction of the South Zhejiang Special Committee, the Lishui District Committee lost contact with the Special Committee and thus suspended its activities.

The former site of the Lishui District Committee of the Communist Party of China is located in Che’ao Village, Beibaixiang Town, Lishui City. The site covers an area of approximately 120 square meters and consists of four wing rooms. The site is privately owned by villagers.
