Yueqing Museum

The new building of Yueqing City Museum covers an exhibition area of approximately 17,000 square meters, with four floors in total. The main exhibition areas are located on the first, second, and third floors. The entire museum is designed around the concept of “one mountain, one bay, one river,” and themed “Melodious Yueqing.” It is divided into four chapters: the Natural Chapter “Nature’s Symphony as in a Painting,” the Historical Chapter “The Distant Sound of the Xiao Flute,” the Cultural Chapter “Folk Melodies from All Directions,” and the Economic Chapter “Brilliant Concerto,” showcasing highlights such as the natural and cultural heritage of Yueqing’s Yandang Mountain and Yueqing Bay, historical changes from prehistoric times through the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War, humanistic sentiments including Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and folk culture, as well as the development of a private economy driven by entrepreneurship. In terms of presentation methods, in addition to displays and reconstructed historical scenes, multimedia, projections, sound effects, and interactive features are also employed to vividly illustrate Yueqing’s nature, history, culture, and economy.

Eastern Jin Celadon Brown-Glazed Reclining Sheep – The sheep is depicted with its head raised, curly tail, and four legs bent in a lying posture. The body is round, with a round hole on the top of the head. It is covered with celadon glaze, which is even, glossy, and applied over a gray, thick clay body.

Warring States Bronze Vessel with Dragon Handle and Bird Head – The vessel has a closed mouth, a rounded base, and three conical feet. One side of the shoulder is decorated with a bird head, while the other side features a dragon-shaped handle.

Neolithic Stone Knife with Two Holes – The blade is horizontally rectangular, flat, and double-edged with a slight curve. It features two precisely drilled holes facing each other and is made of finely polished stone with a gray-black color.

Tang Dynasty Celadon Spittoon – It has a flared mouth with an inward-turned rim, a narrowed neck, a round belly, and a ring foot. The entire piece is coated with yellowish-green celadon glaze. The gray clay body is loose in texture.
