Xiaoyi Bridge

Xiaoyi Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Yueqing City.

Xiaoyi Bridge is located in Longchuan Village, Danxi Town, Yueqing City. During the Chongning era of the Song Dynasty (1102–1106), a local man surnamed Zhou went to buy medicine for his sick father but was hindered by the absence of a bridge over the river. He prayed to heaven, saying: “If you grant my parent a few more years, I vow to build this bridge.” After his father recovered, Zhou took the lead in constructing the bridge, with the help of his friend surnamed Lian, hence the name “Xiaoyi” (Filial Piety and Righteousness) Bridge. It was rebuilt in the 32nd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1767), featuring a five-arch beam structure, 32 meters long and 2.5 meters wide.

Danxi Town: Danxi Town is 12 kilometers from the center of Yueqing City, covering a total land area of 44.2 square kilometers, with a population of 25,000. It is a base for grain and high-quality fruit seed cultivation, as well as aquatic product farming.

The production of Huangtang high-quality citrus and Youchuan giant loquats has reached a significant scale. Large-scale intercropping bases of bayberry (high-quality yangmei) are about to go into production, while kiwi and chestnut bases are under development. Commercial fruits are sold to more than ten provinces across China and exported as far as Southeast Asian countries.
