Tomb of Li Xiaoguang

The Tomb of Li Xiaoguang is a cultural relic protection unit of Yueqing City.

The Tomb of Li Xiaoguang is located at the northern foot of Youshuling on Sizhoutang Village, Dajing Town, Yueqing City. It faces northeast and sits southwest. In front of the tomb stands a bluestone grave tablet inscribed in the center with regular script: “Tomb of Li Xiaoguang, also known as Wufeng, of the Yuan Dynasty, who served as Supervisor of the Secretariat in the Chongwen Pavilion and was later honored as Retired Training State Doctor, together with his wife Lady Xu.” The left and right sides are engraved with inscriptions, and the lower inscription reads: “Reconstructed in the eighth month of autumn, the 16th year of the Daoguang reign (1836) by numerous descendants.” The stone-paved platform and surrounding walls have sunk into the ground over time.

Li Xiaoguang (1285–1350), styled Jihé and also known as Wufeng, was a native of Di’ao Village (now Tian’ao Village), Dajing. He was a renowned literary figure of the Yuan Dynasty. He lived in seclusion at the foot of Wufeng Mountain, and notable scholars such as Tai Buhua and Tao Zongyi were among his disciples. In 1343, he was summoned to serve as an Editor in the Bureau of Historiography, and was promoted to Supervisor of the Secretariat the following year. In 1350, he retired and died of illness on his way back south in Tongzhou (present-day Tong County, Beijing). He authored the Wufeng Collection.
