Liuxiu Long Scenic Area

is a 5-kilometer-long Danxia wonderland, flanked by exquisite rocks and towering peaks, earning it the reputation of a “Ten-Mile Gallery.”

Legend has it that Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu, once took refuge here, hence the name Liuxiu Long. The village at the entrance of the valley is called Liuxiu Village. The area features many peculiar rocks, perilous caves, and legends related to Liu Xiu.

At the Shuangyan Cave site, four groups of unique rocks stand in sequence, resembling a grand entrance welcoming visitors. At the gorge entrance stands an ancient memorial archway, beneath which you can find Couple Rock, Water Curtain Cave, and the former site of 0 Nunnery.

At the mountaintop lies the lotus-shaped cave wonder, Shuangyan Cave, which features caves within caves, all interconnected. In front of the cave are two uniquely shaped peaks known as Lotus Core and Bronze Drum Stone, both living up to their names.

To the north of Liuxiu Ridge lies a 60-meter-wide, 3-meter-high purple-red cliff face called "Red Flower Rock," which is majestic and truly spectacular. From here, you can view wonders such as Lion and Whale Welcoming Guests, Emperor’s Hat, Banner Peak, and Jade Seal Peak.

The solitary Fairy Stone perched on the cliff edge seems ready to topple. The 400-meter-wide, 200-meter-high Golden Chair Peak resembles a gigantic imperial throne, while the square Golden Seal Rock nearby looks like an ancient official seal.

The cliffs, shaped as if hewn by knives and axes, have near-vertical faces of nearly 90 degrees, both thrilling and magnificent. The massive overhanging rocks on the cliffs resemble upside-down golden bells.

It is 18 kilometers from the county town. Take a bus from Wuyi West Bus Station (buses to Yuyuan or Xuiping pass by Liuxiu Long), with a fare of 3 RMB.
