Wuyi Museum
Situated at the northern foot of Gao Mountain (Jiangshan) on the south bank of Shuixi in Wuyi County, the Wuyi County Museum was planned in November 1979, established in February 1985, and officially opened to the public. The main building is a three-story reinforced concrete frame structure with a floor area of 871 square meters, equipped with essential facilities such as exhibition rooms, cultural relics storage, a reference room, offices, and a restoration workshop. Behind the main building lies an elegant, tree-lined garden-style courtyard featuring a collection of steles from the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties, the Wenchang Pavilion (now renamed Yixin Pavilion) dating back to the Qianlong era of the Qing dynasty, as well as rockeries, fountains, and a swimming pool. The museum houses a collection of over 5,600 cultural relics ranging from the Neolithic period to the Republican era, most of which were unearthed within Wuyi County, with a small number being heirloom pieces. These include gold and silverware, jade artifacts, bronzes, ceramics, ancient coins, old books and paintings, as well as revolutionary relics. Among them, ancient Wuzhou kiln porcelain and bronzes are particularly representative of their respective periods. The museum currently possesses five national first-class relics and over twenty second-class relics. In 1998, the Qian Jiaju Library Pavilion was added to the museum, with a floor area of more than 1,900 square meters.
