Little Huangshan She Ethnic Culture Village

Nearly every province and region in China has a scenic area called "Little Huangshan," and these spots are invariably known for their uniquely shaped pines, peculiar rocks, sea of clouds, and cascading waterfalls. However, among the many "Little Huangshan" sites, the one in Wuyi County, our province, stands out with its distinctive She ethnic culture, offering a truly unique experience.

Little Huangshan was originally named He Ye Mountain and is located in the southeastern part of Wuyi, about 48 kilometers from the county town, covering a total area of 5 square kilometers. The scenic area is famed for its "four wonders": uniquely shaped pines, peculiar rocks, sea of clouds, and cascading waterfalls. Attractions such as the Heavenly Lake, suspended coffins, and the Little Three Gorges further enhance its charm. Halfway up the mountain lies an ancient She ethnic village, comprised entirely of traditional southern Zhejiang-style earthen-walled tile-roofed houses. With its long history and rich ethnic flavor, it represents a perfect blend of natural and cultural landscapes.

To this day, this ancient village still fully preserves and continues the vibrant She ethnic culture. Unique She ethnic elements such as folk songs, marriage customs, funeral rites, as well as traditional festival practices, costumes, beliefs, language, and lifestyle habits, all showcase age-old traditions...

On October 9th, the Little Huangshan She Ethnic Culture Ancient Village Scenic Area opened fully to visitors. Features such as the She ethnic girls' wine-serving platform and the She ethnic girls’ antiphonal singing stage... As you stroll through the She ethnic culture village, beautiful scenes unfold before your eyes.

Lotus Cat Corridor: Semi-circular in shape, nearly 100 meters long, and able to seat over 300 people; the lawn in front of the corridor spans over 500 square meters and includes a bonfire platform for nighttime activities; the performance stage covers 150 square meters with two bonfire platforms for nighttime She ethnic dance and antiphonal singing performances.

Treasure Pool: Covering an area of over 200 square meters and 1.5 meters deep, it is available for fishing competitions.

She Ethnic Folk Custom Exhibition Hall: Spanning over 300 square meters, it houses the 40-meter-long "She Ethnic Ancestral Painting" depicting the myth of the She people's origin, as well as traditional She culture and daily utensils.

Geng Fu Ju (Farmer’s Dwelling): A place for visitors to write or paint.

San Yuan Shen Gong (Three Yuan Divine Palace): A spot where mountain folk pray for luck and healing.

Waterfall Viewing Shelter: Offers views of four or five cascading waterfalls arranged in steps, with the longest reaching 60–70 meters.

Heavenly Lake: At the top of Little Huangshan, there are upper and lower Heavenly Lakes with crystal-clear water, which are the source of the stepped waterfalls.

Most eye-catching is the She ethnic restaurant: The dining area covers more than 280 square meters and can accommodate dozens of guests. The most remarkable aspect is the restaurant’s dishes, each emphasizing the "local" touch. Freshly picked vegetables go without saying, but even the meat dishes feature authentic free-range chicken and steak made from yellow cattle raised in the deep mountains... Every visitor to Little Huangshan can’t help but rave about the food, showcasing the unique charm of the Little Huangshan She Ethnic Culture Village.
