Jiulong Valley Rafting is located in Dahuanglingtou Village, Yuyuan Township, Wuyi, central Zhejiang, adjacent to Yuyuan Taiji Astrological Village — one of China’s first national historic and cultural villages. This mountain stream features the mist-enveloped peaks of Jiulong Mountain and an ancient village embodying harmony between man and nature. The rafting course spans 2 kilometers with a total drop of over 150 meters. The river channel is scientifically and safely designed, yet thrillingly unique, with water surging down in rapids and the course winding through nine twists and eighteen turns, showcasing the dynamic spirit of “Nine Dragons Competing for the Pearl.”

Yuyuan Jiulong Valley Rafting is the second rafting project developed in Wuyi, known as the Hot Spring City. It lies between Dahuanglingtou Village in Yuyuan Township, Wuyi, and Yuyuan — one of China's first officially designated historic and cultural villages. Dahuanglingtou Village is situated on the mountainside of Longtouyanjing Mountain, the highest peak in central Wuyi at an elevation of 1,041 meters, and is a secluded ancient village nestled deep in the mountains. The rafting water originates from the foothills of Longtouyanjing Mountain, where the misty peaks of Jiulong Mountain tower above and the Taiji Astrological ancient village lies below, creating a picturesque contrast. Rafting amidst the ancient village and verdant mountains is an absolutely breathtaking experience. Surrounded by green hills, Yuyuan Ancient Village is just two or three kilometers away from Jiulong Valley Rafting, resembling the scene of “Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl.”

Yuyuan Township: Yuyuan is located in the southwestern part of Wuyi County, 20 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Xuannan Township to the east and Taocun to the west, and is 12 kilometers from the national heritage site Yanfu Temple. Surrounded by mountains, Yuyuan is traversed by a stream that flows out of the village in an “S” shape. In ancient times, Yuyuan was called Zhuyan Village, originally inhabited by the Zhu and Yan families. Legend has it that during the Southern Song Dynasty, a scholar-official surnamed Yu from Hangzhou served as a Confucian instructor in Songyang. After his death, his son transported his coffin back to Hangzhou but stopped for the night in Zhuyan Village. The next morning, the coffin was found entwined with purple wisteria vines — seen as a sign of a sacred land. Thus, the family decided to bury him there, and descendants stayed to guard the tomb, gradually growing into what is now Yuyuan.
