Shuiduihou Village, Shuxi Subdistrict, Wuyi County, situated in Shuangkeng, Nanxi, Wuyi County, lies 12 kilometers south of the county town. Its geographical coordinates are 28 degrees north latitude and 11 degrees east longitude. The Xu family is the main surname, having relocated from Lutan in the county over 600 years ago. With nearly 200 households and a population of 573, the village governs 3 natural villages and has 305 mu of arable land. It is the hometown of Martyr Xu Ying, the fifth early Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and is home to revolutionary relics such as the Martyr Xu Ying Cemetery, Memorial Hall, and Former Residence. It has been listed as a Party history education base at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, a municipal patriotism education base, and a Wuyi County integrity education base.

Since 2002, under the advocacy of the Shuxi Subdistrict Party Working Committee, the two committees of Shuiduihou Village and descendants of the Xu family actively donated funds to renovate the Xu Clan Ancestral Hall and establish the Martyr Xu Ying Memorial Hall. Covering a total area of over 1,000 square meters, the hall officially opened in 2004. Since its opening, 3,000 to 4,000 visitors come each year for study tours. Following the expansion of the Martyr Cemetery in 2013, over 2,000 new steps were added to walking trails, and more than 20 mu of land were afforested. The village auditorium was renovated into a cultural center. Activities have been enriched through bulletin boards, county cultural station performances, mobile cultural events, and summer youth programs. In 2015, the village was honored to be included in Wuyi County’s Beautiful Villages Premium Project. The first and second phases of the project have been largely completed, and the third phase—the restoration of Martyr Xu Ying’s Former Residence—has finished bidding and entered construction. Annually, "Qingming Festival" and "July 1st" are peak periods for activities. After discussion by the two committees, designated personnel take turns on duty to assist the memorial hall staff, and party members, village representatives, and residents are organized each year to participate in Qingming commemorations and learn about Martyr Xu Ying’s deeds. In 2015, the village recommended four motivated youths to attend the third “Red Scarf New Youth” training program in Wuyi County. Upon completion, they returned to form a Red Service Volunteer Team, actively contributing to the premium village project and promoting red culture heritage.

Our village will continue to strive to implement all initiatives effectively, uphold the red banner, promote red culture, and host visitors on the “Journey of Faith,” ensuring that Martyr Xu Ying’s Former Residence, as a red education site, fulfills its true purpose.
