The Residential Compound of the Xu Family in Lutan is located in Lutan Town, Wuyi County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

On January 7, 2011, it was designated as part of the Sixth Batch of Cultural Relics Protection Units of Zhejiang Province.

Lutan Town: Lutan is situated in the northern part of Wuyi County, on the banks of the Wuyi River, approximately 6 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Baiyang Subdistrict to the east, the county seat to the south, Hushan Subdistrict to the southwest, and the city of Jinhua to the north.

The town covers a total area of 50.6 square kilometers, with 31 administrative villages and a population of 13,633. The terrain is flat, the land fertile, the climate mild, and sunlight abundant.
